Success for Barkarbystaden’s First Condominiums

October 4 marks the handover of Fyrklövern, the first block of condominiums in Barkarbystaden — a milestone project developed by HållBo, the joint venture between ByggVesta and Bonnier Bostad. The new ownership model has been warmly received in the district, with only a few of the 133 condominiums still available for purchase.

Fyrklövern offers 1–4 room condominiums just steps from the popular Herrestaskolan and the future metro station opening in 2026. Around the area, cozy pedestrian streets, cafés, and restaurants are taking shape, creating a vibrant and welcoming neighborhood.

The condominiums are part of a mixed-use development that also includes rental apartments, forming a cohesive courtyard block with a shared elevated garden — featuring seating areas, barbecue spots, playgrounds, and garden plots.

“We’re delighted with the positive reception that both the condominium model and our homes have received in Barkarbystaden. It’s exciting to finally open the doors and welcome the first residents,”
says Hanna Burns, Project Manager at ByggVesta.

The condominium model is well-established across Europe, offering direct ownership with low fixed costs and greater personal freedom. Unlike tenant-owned housing (Brf), it allows owners, including legal entities, to rent out or renovate their homes freely.
