Project Development in Husby/Kista
In northern Stockholm, near Kista’s urban center and the green expanses of Järvafältet, ByggVesta is developing Stora Blå, a striking new residential landmark. The 131 rental apartments and an additional LSS housing floor will be housed in a slender, high-rise building with a deep blue façade, designed to reflect the sky and offer residents panoramic views of the city and nature.
The ground floor will feature shops and public spaces, creating an inviting and active street environment. Stora Blå forms part of a larger urban development along Hanstavägen, which includes around 750 homes, offices, and community facilities, transforming the area into a more vibrant and connected urban corridor.
Architect Måns Tham emphasizes a careful balance between the building’s urban base and its elegant skyline presence. The design features a warm gray brick plinth with open, public spaces, topped by the blue tower with a curved roofline and generous windows, ensuring light-filled homes and a recognizable silhouette in Kista’s skyline.
