In Ektorp, ByggVesta offers 207 student homes and youth rentals. The block wraps a green, terraced courtyard with shared seating, grills, a ping-pong table, and timbered steps that residents love to use. Apartment sizes range from studios (24 m²) to 3-room units (55 m²). Travel time to Slussen is about 20 minutes by bus (about 15 minutes by car).

Apartments feature oak parquet, light walls, and tall wardrobes with light fronts and sleek chrome handles.

Lounge & on-site office

Together with interior studio Esteriör, we created a flexible residents’ lounge designed for socializing and spontaneous meetups – just as tenants requested. Next door is ByggVesta’s area office and there’s also an additional unit available for commercial lease.

“Aurora’s concept grew out of the site’s dramatic level changes and nearby roads. The buildings form a protective edge. Varied facades and heights create a broken-up scale, making the natural terrain the heart of the block. A shared walking/bike path and glazed entry walks open Aurora to the world.”

The Name Aurora

The name Aurora was chosen via a naming contest where the prize was a first-hand lease:

“I suggest Aurora. It means ‘dawn’ in Latin – fitting for students and young tenants. For many, this will be the start of a new chapter, likely their very first apartment. A dawn in life.”
