Newly Built Apartments

Living in a New Building

Moving into a brand-new building is exciting – but it also calls for a little patience and understanding. Here’s what to know before move-in.

Staggered Move-Ins

Move-ins happen by staircase, in stages, as the building is completed. It may take several months until an entire property is fully occupied and finished.

Hang in there – it will be great!

Outdoor Areas & Common Spaces

The property may not be fully finished when you move in. Construction work in the building and landscaping outdoors can continue until all staircases have moved in. Expect some daytime noise, dust, and dirt in stairwells, tracked in because outdoor areas are not yet complete. Access to some common areas may be limited. You will always have access to your storage unit and parking space (if you rent one).

Move-in Information

About two weeks before your move, you’ll receive practical information: key pick-up, elevator slots, and other details specific to your staircase on your move-in day.

Warranty Items

In new builds, hairline cracks in walls and ceilings can occur during the first two years. These are addressed after a warranty inspection conducted two years after move-in. Repairs covered by warranty may take a bit longer, since they are not performed by our regular technicians.

Energy

In addition to rent, you pay for electricity, hot water, and in some cases heating.

Our heat-recovery system recovers up to 90% of ventilation heat, reducing the need for radiators so the building is warmed mainly by sunlight, household appliances, lighting – and residents themselves. As a result, our buildings use far less energy than Sweden’s building code requires. The system also lets you track and influence your own energy use, which is itemized on your rent each month.
