Gröndal strand

Live by Lake Mälaren in charming Gröndal

In the new waterfront district of Gröndal Strand, ByggVesta offers 83 rental apartments and a preschool for around 60 children. The area has developed into a lively and green neighbourhood combining housing, workplaces, and preserved nature. Along the water, residents and visitors can enjoy walks, recreation, and social spaces by Lake Mälaren — open for everyone.

Located west of Liljeholmen with views of Stora Essingen and only 10 minutes from Södermalm, Gröndal offers a rare blend of greenery and city proximity. ByggVesta’s project includes two sites: Durken, with 35 apartments, and Spinnakern, with 48 apartments, garage, and a preschool.

The architecture is high-quality, featuring large windows, sliding doors, and light-filled layouts ranging from 32 m² (1–2 rooms) to over 100 m² (4 rooms). Most apartments are close to the waterfront and have balconies or terraces, many with lake views.

A short walk from the buildings lies a beautiful city park with majestic oak trees, open green areas, and a newly built playground.

ByggVesta manages the property on behalf of the owner, Granit Bostad.

Architect’s thoughts:

The social spaces in each apartment open up towards the surrounding city and nature. The generous balconies extend the living areas outward — connecting residents with the city life, greenery, and the Mälaren landscape. From most apartments and balconies, the lake can be glimpsed.
