The Final Piece Falls into Place to Realize the New University District in Flemingsberg

ByggVesta and EQT Real Estate announced today that EQT has acquired the second phase of a planned residential development in Flemingsberg. The two partners will jointly complete the entire project of over 800 new homes for young professionals, researchers, and students at Campus Flemingsberg. Building permits for Phase 2 were granted on April 25.

We’re proud and delighted to continue our close collaboration with EQT Real Estate to further develop Campus Flemingsberg. Construction of Phase 1 is progressing well and according to plan, so it feels natural to carry that good momentum into Phase 2. Together, we’re creating great opportunities for future students and researchers to live in a safe, sustainable, and vibrant campus environment.
Jenny Jonsson, vd ByggVesta.

This agreement between ByggVesta and EQT Real Estate marks another step toward realizing the vision of Campus Flemingsberg — a key contribution to the ongoing investments transforming Flemingsberg into one of Stockholm’s leading hubs for education, research, and innovation.

The new agreement includes 388 additional homes for young professionals, researchers, and students. It follows the successful first phase, which consists of 417 apartments for students and researchers. Together, the two phases form a sustainable, dynamic university community where people and knowledge can thrive side by side.

The development of this second phase was made possible by ByggVesta’s acquisition earlier this year of the Embryot 8 property from Stiftelsen Clara.

The project is being carried out in close cooperation with Huddinge Municipality and Södertörn University. The appointed main contractor is H2 Entreprenad, together with Nexcon Company AB. Phase 2 has been developed by ByggVesta in collaboration with Kirsch+Dereka Arkitekter and Winell Jern Arkitekter.

Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2025, with move-ins planned gradually during the second half of 2027.
