Project Development for the Future

Building a city takes time. An idea is born in one era and realized in another. With our history, ByggVesta represents a long-term commitment to city-making and quality housing. Drawing on deep experience and competence, we work innovatively and with dedication to social and environmental sustainability, architectural design, technical and financial viability, and long-term property management – from day one. Decisions related to site selection, resource use, and neighborhoods are made with future generations in mind.

By promoting solutions that benefit people, the environment, and society, while remaining economically sound, we aim to inspire the entire industry to move in the same direction.

A Holistic View of the Future and of Development

Our strategy goes deeper than individual projects – we analyze how each project, and ByggVesta as a whole, can contribute to urban development at large. By considering safety, social and environmental sustainability, architectural design, scale, feasibility, and more, we help fulfill political goals, comprehensive plans, and the requirements for sound, sustainable urban growth.

Our approach is further concretized through our methodology that we call Stadsutvecklingsstegen.

Environmental Certification & Sustainability Frameworks

We certify our buildings, currently according to Miljöbyggnad (Sweden Green Building Council) at Silver level, with several indicators at higher levels than that. For example, we can proudly state that our building method meets the climate threshold values for Miljöbyggnad 4.0 Gold. We see certification as a seal of quality.

We also embrace new regulations, such as the EU Taxonomy Regulation, and drive a sustainable agenda by working toward clear objectives within its focus areas, for example climate change mitigation, water management, circular economy, and biodiversity.

Climate, Energy & Nature

Tackling climate change is a central challenge. We take this seriously and recognize that climate and cost efficiency go hand in hand. We work to reduce our climate impact through responsible resource use and efficient building solutions that deliver high social value. This includes building space-efficient apartments that make better use of land and resources while helping counter overcrowding.

We also plan courtyards wisely to support rich biodiversity and resilience to future climate shifts. And we promote sustainable habits among residents – through low-energy homes in public-transit-rich locations and access to sharing services.
