In unique teamwork, Deutsche Bahn, the German concrete element producer Praefa, Schenker, Green Cargo, and ByggVesta have created a new “green transport corridor” for shipping construction elements by rail through Europe.
A new way of working together
The results can soon be measured in terms of money and the environment. In this case, with significantly lower purchasing prices as well as halving the CO2 emissions as compared to transporting the elements by truck in the conventional way.

The challenge is always looking for new ways and new approaches to minimize CO2 emissions and at the same time to save money. Sea-transport from harbor to harbor for example is something we have great hopes for and we are convinced it is the future. By always regarding the building process from a holistic perspective, we can easily try out new solutions and use standard products flexibly as far as possible.
For example we have invested heavily in prefabricated concrete frame elements, simplified installations with a few precast products and an efficient ventilation system. In this way we also free up resources and use new technical solutions and methods precisely where they are needed. We are always looking for new cooperation partners both turn-key contractors and subcontractors for the whole construction process.
