We want to make the world a lot better to live in. It is important for us to be a role model when it comes to sustainable and forward-looking community building. That’s why we try to include facilities that make it easier for our tenants to contribute to a cleaner environment. For example we build near good public communications in order to encourage mass transit.
The Environment and Quality
We arrange areas for bicycle parking as well as working for building bicycle paths and sidewalks. In addition we help to set up car pools and bicycle pools for our tenants and employees. For us climate responsibility is about much more than just following rules and regulations. In many cases we feel we have to make even higher demands.
That is the reason we have developed a combined quality- and environment policy which is the cornerstone of our work. In all our work we are actively trying to meet or preferably exceed our tenants' and other customers' expectations as regards providing a good environment, high quality and good service.
This means that we:
- Build climate-smart Self-Heating Buildings with low energy consumption.
- Select materials, methods and transport solutions which are good for the environment during the construction and living phases.
- Minimize the volume of building materials.
- Promote the use of public transport by building close to mass transit facilities.
- Use low energy lighting and smart control systems to have a low environmental impact.
- Try to to reduce water consumption in our properties.
- Make it easy to recycle waste and we provide an efficient waste management system to contribute to better recycling and less resource-waste.
- Focus on using new technology and renewable energy.
- Consider the interests of our tenants regarding the climate and quality
- Work with our tenants to improve the surroundings of the property and the common spaces which we administer.
- Strive for aesthetics and high functionality both inside and around the property.
- Prevent and repair faults and flaws to eliminate any inconvenience to our tenants.
- Together with our partners, we create conditions for good, safe working conditions and injury-free building sites.
- Develop our co-workers' knowledge and interest in climate- and quality issues as well as encourage climate- and quality-thinking as a part of ByggVesta's everyday work.
- Work with suppliers, consultants and contractors who are actively engaged in environmental-, quality- and workplace issues.
- Make high demands for good ethics and business integrity from our suppliers, consultants and contractors.
- Strive for constant improvement and closer cooperation in our work with environmental and quality issues both internally and externally.
- In purchasing we try to buy eco-labeled products and we alway try to buy eco-labeled products for disposable items.
In every project we have to draw up a plan for environment- and quality work as regards our objectives, implementation and follow-up. Then this plan has to be continually developed and improved.
